The Freelo plugin for Microsoft Teams brings your tasks right into Teams – see them, edit them, and create them exactly where you talk to your colleagues.
What the integration can do
- View Freelo tasks in a clear table directly in a Teams channel (as a tab).
- Quickly edit a task – assign a worker, set a due date, add a label, or mark it done, without leaving Teams.
- Open task detail with the description, subtasks, and comments – and edit them right there.
- Create a new task – from the overview, or directly from a specific message (the message text is copied into the task automatically).
- Add a comment to Freelo directly from a message in Teams.

What you'll need
- A Freelo account (or create one for free).
- Microsoft Teams under a company (business) account – the integration doesn't work yet in Teams for personal/free users.
- Admin rights in Teams to add the plugin to a channel – if you don't have them, contact your IT admin.
Installation: adding the plugin to a channel
You install the Freelo plugin from the Microsoft Teams App Store. Adding it to a channel requires admin rights – a regular user can't add the tab themselves (Teams will show a message telling them to contact an administrator).
- In the Teams channel, click + at the top (next to the Posts, Files, and other tabs).
- Select Apps from the menu.
- Search for Freelo and select the plugin.
- The tab setup window opens – continue by setting up your projects (see below).

Connecting your Freelo account to your Microsoft account
When you open the tab for the first time, the integration checks whether your Microsoft email matches the email in Freelo. Two scenarios can happen:
Scenario 1 – your Microsoft email is already in Freelo
- If the account is already connected to a Microsoft account → you're done, you'll see your tasks right away.
- If it's not connected yet → the tab shows a prompt to connect. Open Freelo, click your avatar in the top right → Settings → Security and sign-in → Set up sign-in via Microsoft. Enter your Freelo password and select your Microsoft account. From then on, the integration will sign you in automatically.
Scenario 2 – your Microsoft email is not in Freelo
- You have a Freelo account under a different email → connect it to your company Microsoft account the same way as in Scenario 1 (Settings → Security and sign-in).
- You don't have a Freelo account → sign up directly via Microsoft ("Sign up with Microsoft"), or use the same email as in Teams so the accounts connect automatically.

Golden rule: For the integration to work smoothly, connect your Freelo account to the same Microsoft email you use to sign in to Teams.

Setting up the tasks tab
After selecting the Freelo app, the tab setup window opens:
- Pick a project from the Select project dropdown.
- Choose whether to show All to-do lists, or only selected ones (using the "+ add to-do list" button).
- To show more than one project in a single tab, add another project by clicking the second "Select project" field.
- Save the setup with the Save button.
Note: Once saved, the tab settings (projects and to-do lists) can't be changed – not even by the tab's owner. The tab owner (whoever created it) can only rename it, or remove it and add a new one with a different combination (the ˅ arrow next to the tab → Remove). Other channel members just see the tab as it was set up.
