Freelo API and API Key

Freelo API lets you connect Freelo with other tools you use – automatically, without manually transferring data. Thanks to the API (Application Programming Interface), your developer or favourite no-code tool can communicate with Freelo and exchange data in both directions. You can find the complete documentation in English at api.freelo.io.

What can you use the Freelo API for?

With the API, you can connect any system that has an API with Freelo. Most commonly these are internal systems, accounting tools, CRMs, and similar. The connection runs automatically and you can:

  • Retrieve information about projects, tasks, and their comments.
  • Create tasks and subtasks in Freelo.
  • Comment on existing tasks.
  • Link labels and set priorities.
  • List tasks, To-Do lists, or projects.
  • Bulk download files.
  • Track activity across projects.

Where to find your API key

The API key is used to connect Freelo with other services, such as Fakturoid, iDoklad, Vyfakturuj, Raynet, or SupportBox.

You can find your unique API key in settings. Click your avatar in the top right corner and select Settings. At the very bottom of the page you will find the API key section — copy it and use it according to the instructions for the relevant service.

This section also contains a direct link to the API documentation. Just click the word documentation.

Click your avatar to get to Settings.

Practical Use

The API is especially useful for teams that want to connect Freelo with their existing workflows:

  • CRM or helpdesk integration – new requests from another tool automatically appear as tasks in Freelo, no copy-pasting needed.
  • Automatic report transfers – data from Freelo flows directly into your accounting software or reporting tool.
  • Custom dashboards and reports – pull Freelo data into any BI tool and build the overview you need.
  • Bulk operations – create large numbers of tasks or projects at once via a script, instead of doing it manually one by one.
  • Notifications to other systems – when a task or project changes, send an automatic alert to Slack, email, or another tool.
