Record a voice message or screen recording directly in Freelo, without any additional software. Insert the finished recording into a task comment, task Description, or save it to project files where colleagues can find it anytime.
Five steps, three buttons, two screenshots, and your colleague will still ask questions. In Freelo, you record the process once as a screen recording and insert it directly into a task comment.
Written instructions can be interpreted in different ways. With a voice message, you say what matters to you, complete with emphasis and context, and the recording stays with the task it belongs to.
One recording in the chat, another in an email, a third on a drive. In Freelo, you'll find the recording in the task discussion or in the project Files, not across five different apps.
“The recording doesn't just sit in the Downloads folder. It stays right on the task it belongs to, and anyone with access to the project can find it.”
Ten points on a single banner are hard to read in a comment. Comment on the materials directly during the screen recording, so the author sees exactly what you are pointing to.
Instructions for a new colleague or a bug that no one else can reproduce. A screen recording will show exactly where and how it happens, and saved in the project, it will also serve others.
Between two meetings or on the way from the field, there's no time to sit at a computer. In the mobile app, you can record instructions with a voice message directly into a task comment.
In a new comment, click the microphone icon, allow the browser to access your microphone, and speak. Need to pause and think? You can pause the recording and continue later. Insert the finished recording into the comment using the blue arrow and send it. It will appear in the task discussion complete with a player, so your colleague can play it right inside Freelo.
Try Freelo for freeIn the comment, click the monitor icon and choose what to record in the browser window: a browser tab, a single window, or the entire screen. This also allows you to record steps in another application, such as accounting software or a graphic editor. Add a few words to the recording and submit it as a comment on the task.
Upload the first entryYou don't have to search for the task first. In the top blue menu, click on + and choose Record voice or Record screen. It's even faster using a keyboard shortcut: Option/Alt + Shift + A for voice and Option/Alt + Shift + V for screen. Once finished, a preview will open where you can play the recording, rename it, and choose where to save it.
Try Freelo for freeYou can save the recording in the Files section of the selected project, even directly into a specific folder. Colleagues can play it, comment on it, download it, or share it further from there. It is great for onboarding newcomers as well as for procedures that repeat every month. And because Freelo remembers the storage location, the next recording heads straight into the same folder.
Try Freelo for freeFor a recording started via + or a keyboard shortcut, you have two links available. The Internal URL can only be opened by someone who is logged in to Freelo and has access to the project. The Public URL works even without Freelo, so you can send it, for example, to a client via email. When you turn on automatic copying, you have the link straight in your clipboard after every recording.

A screen recording is a video of what is happening on your monitor: mouse movements, clicks, opened pages, or even a voiceover. It is used for tutorials, onboarding new colleagues, reporting bugs, or giving feedback on materials. In Freelo, you can record it directly in your browser and attach it to a task or add it to project files.
You can find a step-by-step guide with pictures in the help section for voice and screen recordings.
Not in Freelo. Recording runs directly in the browser via its built-in screen sharing, so you don't install anything and just confirm what you want to record. Standalone programs and tools on Windows or Mac save the recording to your computer, and you then have to send it somewhere. In Freelo, you have it right by the task it belongs to.
A voice message is a short audio recording you send instead of written text. It comes in handy when you need to explain context, add emphasis, or reply from your mobile and don't have time to type. On the other hand, a written comment is better for things you will look up later using keywords, such as numbers, links, or deadlines.
A screenshot captures a single moment, a screen recording captures the entire procedure. For an error in one place, a screenshot is enough, which you can paste from your clipboard into a comment in Freelo. When you need to show the sequence of steps or behavior that appears only after a few clicks, send a recording.
In the comment editor, click the microphone icon and allow your browser access to the microphone. You can pause the recording, stop it with the blue stop button, and insert the recording into the comment with the blue arrow. From anywhere in Freelo, you can also start it via + > Record voice or using the shortcut Option/Alt + Shift + A.
The voice message is not limited by length. A 2 GB file size limit applies to both voice messages and screen recordings, which is more than enough for regular guides and assignments.
Yes. You can add a voiceover to your screen recording right away, for example when reviewing graphics and explaining what needs to be adjusted. Your colleague can then both see and hear exactly what you are pointing at.
You can also record a voice message in the mobile app, directly into a task comment. You record screen recordings on your computer in a browser.
Wherever you choose. A recording from the comment editor is inserted into the task discussion. A recording started via + or a keyboard shortcut can be saved to the Files section of the selected project, or to a specific folder, or inserted into a comment on a task or subtask.
Yes, via a public URL that you get for recordings started using + or a keyboard shortcut. The recipient can open the recording even without a Freelo account, so only send it to people who should see the content. In contrast, the internal URL can only be opened by a logged-in user with access to the project.
Audio and screen recording is part of Freelo; you don't need to purchase or install anything extra. An overview of what each plan includes can be found in the pricing.
